Storytelling
The 6 original stories are the heart of this curriculum and families often make a unique and special connection with the characters, The Hiddles. The Hiddles are a family of sprites who live in the Old Oak Tree in Wishing Wood. With each story we follow Snickle and Pippet as they venture outside and meet their friends of the wood, reflecting on the season and their surroundings.
In each seasonal curriculum you'll find 6 original Hiddles stories, a set of Hiddles puppets and animal characters, a background and a 3D Old Oak Tree.
By listening to stories children learn early literacy and maths skills, such as sequencing, narrative, settings, characters as well as emotions, 'right and wrong', kindness and empathy, imagination and relationships.
Nature Walks
Within each seasonal curriculum you'll find 12 beautifully illustrated nature walk pages. Each page has 5 simple activity ideas for the week. These activities require minimal planning or gathering of resources so that you can simply head outside and enjoy your time together.
When we spend time outside, throughout the year, we are able to gain a deeper understanding of nature, living things, and our environment. we build empathy and an understanding of how we effect the environment. Nature provides us with a rhythm and a flow as we are carried through each season.
Crafts
Each week you'll find beautifully illustrated craft pages, explaining how to do each craft. You'll be making simple seasonal crafts which relate to the weeks topic. Doing these crafts can create a playful connection time between you and your child.

You can print your recipe cards and put them in a recipe box so that you have a collection that you can refer back to and let them become part of your family meal and snack times. Many of the recipes are simple enough for children to join in and in all the recipes there will be ways for your child to participate, such as mixing, ripping, sieving, chopping or washing.
